Mega food Boom

In Japan, Mega food is blooming.
Mega food means a a large quantity food lineup like mega mac , Yoshinoya Triple.
Mega Food boom is leading to boost sales.
My Thought
Although people is caring their health and Metabolic syndrome,
Why does mega food become popular?
I thought Mega food boom is from the paradox which people have.
If People was restricted by something, They would try to resist the limit.
Caring Health and Metabolic syndrome is hot topic in the society.
Mega food boom may be the resist for caring health and metabolic syndrome.
For example ,illegal drugs have good value because it is illegal!
Of course Japan is restricting illegal drugs, But Traffics of drugs or crimes of drug addict are a lot. But In the Netherland,Government don't restrict drugs.
Besides The traffics of drugs and crimes of drug addict is by far less than Japanese ones or other countries.
According to that example, I thought The restriction may occur new value or new boom.
I have to keep it in my mind.

It is quite interesting to find mega food fad in Japan.
Most Japanese people are not huge eaters, as compared to Americans.
I think the marketing department of these companies are trying hard to get attention. If you create these types of products, you create some news buzz. Beyond that, I think the market is still rather small for mega food eaters in Japan.
